Friendly Societies

About

  • We supervise and regulate the business of Friendly Societies in Namibia with the ultimate objective of contributing to a safe, stable, and fair Friendly Societies system in which Friendly Society members are protected.

    Our activities are mainly to ascertain whether Friendly Societies’ assets are managed prudently and whether they are compliant with the Friendly Societies Act 1956, (Act No. 25 of 1956) (“the Act”), as well as Circulars issued by the Registrar in accordance with the Act.

What We Do

  • We conduct on and off-site inspections
  • Assess applications submitted to determine compliance with the Act
  • Enforce compliance
